If your banks has a website whereby you can download your transactions in Quicken or MS Money format, then there is no hand entry required. It has an internal browser that you can navigate to your bank's web site and log in. It pre-fills in your banks server URL and attaches that with your account. This is the only budgeting software that you can pick your major bank when you set up your account.
You may suffer through the documentation. Or you may go as detailed as you like, with categories and sub-categories and budgeted amounts for each. You can say, keep all my spending below X dollars for a given month. You can perform the simplest kind of budget possible. Of course it has customized budget planning, with another nice feature for those that are new to budgeting.
It's very nice, and has an absolutely wonderful Calendar View ( or List View, your choice ) of re-occurring bills that are coming due on the next month. HomeBudget allows family sync - and you don't have to use wi-fi to keep different devices up to date - it will work over the air on 3G.
